Welcome to Nipawin Alliance Church |
Nipawin Alliance Church, bringing glory to God. By Inward nurture of the Great Community. By Outward pursuit of the Great Commision. By Upward demonstration of the Great Commandment |
What we are doing |
Some Practical Stuff. As a part of the historical free church movement our services although having a strong tradition, do not follow the church calender nor do they have a fixed liturgy. We do however celebrate selected dates from the church calender and you will find that each Sunday has a familiar flow. We do not practice the sacraments of the church but rather participate in the ordinances of the church. We have two ordinances: Believer’s Baptism & Open Communion which is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. In order to avoid any misunderstanding if you have questions about what we believe about these ordinances or why we practice them the way we do, please speak with a Pastor or one of our Elders. Finacial Realities. This ministry operates completely on the sacrificial giving of those who attend.
As you attend please seriously consider your share of this responsibility. As you
may have heard, “You feed the horse you ride.” How We Operate (Church Structure) “Vision Led – Policy Protected” A. The organizational structure of Nipawin Alliance Church 1.The Ruling Body of Nipawin Alliance Church is it's Elders. The Elders consist of: -Chairman -Vice Chairman -Recording Secretary -Financial Secretary -Facilities coordinator -Members with-out portfolio. 2.Senior Pastor (The senior pastor does not serve as chairman but is member ex-officio of the Elders Board therefore he is not eligible for re-election. He is also in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada, member ex-officio of all standing committees.) 3.The Associate Pastor may serve as a nonvoting member at the discretion of the Elders. B. Elders may serve two term in succession ( 2 terms of 3 years each = 6 years maximum) After this, they must take at least one year off before being eligible for nomination. C. Election of Elders Elders shall be nominated by the nominating committee. The nominating committee consists of the Senior Pastor, two representatives from the Elders and two members in good standing. -The two members shall be elected according to due process at a congregational meeting called by the elders for such a purpose. - Other nominations shall be submitted in writing, signed by two members in good standing, filed with the chairman of the nominating committee for posting before the public services on the Sunday prior to the annual meeting. - The Elders shall then by elected at the Annual Meeting. D. Beyond these considerations Nipawin has a “flat” organizational structure. We have tried to create a structure that creates has ready access to the Elders and the Pastor. There are no chains of command or instituted structures that have been created in order to control or direct people to leadership. Our goal continues to be “Leadership that Listens”. We do have serval formal documents that guide us as a church. If you wish a copy of the 1.Policies & Procedures, 2.Privacy Guidelines or 3.Bylaws please speak with a Pastor.
